The Character Editor
The character creation in Pax Dei starts with a selectable preset, which will be adjusted in the further process. The base face can be selected from various faces. The other options allow you to create an individual character from these presets.
The options
When specifying the number of options/variations, "not selected" (e.g. bald or no beard) is counted.
Hair
- Selection of hairstyle (currently 24 variants)
- Selection of colour (colour selector in the range of white, brown and black)
Beard
- Selection of beard style (currently 15 variants)
- Selection of colour (colour selector in the range of white, brown and black)
Base Face
- Selection of the base face (currently 16 options per gender)
Eye Color
- Selection of eye colour (currently 10 colours)
- Slider for size of iris
- Slider for the size of the pupil
Eyebrows
- Selection of eyebrows (currently 13 variants)
- Selection of the colour (colour selector in the range of white, brown and black).
It is not clear from the video whether there are different variants for the respective genders.
Eyeshadow
- Selection of the eyeshadow (currently 12 variants)
- Slider for intensity
- Slider for metallic effect
- Slider for shine
- Selection of the colour (colour selector)
Eyeliner
- Selection of the eyeliner (currently 12 variants)
- Slider for intensity

How many tattoo variants and whether there are further options for the tattoos is not apparent in the video.
Character Name
- 2-13 Lettters
- No space, symbol or number
- Only the first letter can be uppercase
Directly when the character name is entered, it is checked whether the name is available. It is unclear whether there will also be a family name in addition to the character name outside the character editor. In Discord, a developer mentioned family names. Unfortunately, it is not clear whether this is meant in the context of a selectable family name in the game:
So, what will you call a marriage? 2 characters with the same family name? You can do that.
Select Start Location
Unlike many other games, the starting location can be chosen quite freely. One of the four heartland provinces of the Gallia region and then a home valley can be chosen.
And with that, the first leaf is turned in the great book of life. Ahead lies an unwritten chapter waiting to be filled with your story and the stories of those whom your words and deeds affect along the way, those you learn to love, those you choose to hate and everyone in between. Here it matters not whence you came nor where you are, but only where you choose to go. So go forth, draw a fresh breath and become the one you dream of being.
