I've tentatively designed my character, a bard possibly named Teneu Nightingale, with "Teneu" pronounced "Ten-ay," a name taken from a legendary 6th-century saint. I've drawn this mimicking the style of medieval manuscript illustrations. She is depicted wearing a blue and red mi-parti kirtle with pinned-on sleeves, her white chemise visible in the gap between the sleeves and the kirtle and down the front where the kirtle would be laced together. At the base of the kirtle, the white and grey-blue stripes of a vair fur lining can be seen, and peeking out is one leather turnshoe with a slightly pointed toe. She is playing a nyckelharpa, or "keyed fiddle," a stringed instrument originating in Sweden and dating back to at least the 15th century, though possibly the 14th.
