Terms of service

Note: we put great emphasis on data security, but we advise you not to use the same account data (e-mail and password) for the forum as you use for the game.

Participation in the PaxDei-RP.com forum and the associated applications requires acceptance of the following terms of service (ToS). These apply to posts, profile information, guestbook, avatars, signatures, any other content on this site and participation in general. Also included are private messages.

Due to the fast-paced nature of forum discussions, it is not possible for us to review all messages or check for accuracy and correctness before they are posted. If you believe someone has violated our guidelines or you have identified content that needs our attention in some way, please send a private message to a team member with a link to the content and a brief description of what you believe is wrong. Or simply use the report button. Such reports are voluntary and anonymous. Under no circumstances should a user react in such a situation and make the situation worse.

Any content that violates our guidelines will be removed.

The interpretation of these ToSis at the discretion of the team

  1. Whenever you participate in this community, remember that we strive to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. So have fun and enjoy the forums. The right to free speech does not apply on private websites such as this one. These guidelines describe in detail the type of behaviour and activities that are permitted here. If a user does not abide by our guidelines and disrespects them, the administrators and the community, they risk losing their account. We reserve the right to disable accounts and edit or remove posts without prior warning. This policy is subject to change without notice.
  2. In principle, each user may only create one account. If he sees the need for a second account, he must present his request to the administration and justify it. The administration will then decide individually whether the second account is granted or not. Illegal double accounts will be removed and the owner of the main account will receive a ban which, if repeated, can become permanent.
In addition to the creation of double accounts, it is also forbidden to pass on one's own account data.
For technical reasons and to check for the use of double accounts, IP addresses are stored when creating a post, private message or voting in a poll. IP addresses from sessions without these actions are deleted after the session ends. IP addresses can only be viewed by the operator and are treated confidentially and not passed on to third parties.
  3. Automated actions, such as creating accounts, writing posts and reading out content, are not permitted.
  4. Excessively vulgar language is not allowed and will be removed. Exceptions to this rule are, of course, corresponding story contributions, although a certain level must be maintained here as well.
  5. Erotic and violent content will only be tolerated within the limits of what would be seen in Pax Dei without modifications and tricks. This also applies to linking external content from these categories. The forum moderation will remove content that exceeds these limits without notice or comment.
  6. Pointless cross-posting is not allowed and will result in the removal of one or more posts. Cross-posting means posting the same content in two or more places. Always insert your posts in the appropriate place within the structure of our forum. Identical posts posted in the same or different forums will be removed. If you are not sure where your post should be placed, please ask a team member in advance. This does not apply to translated versions of posts.
  7. Respect is the motto. You must respect the other members. Please refrain from inflammatory and slanderous comments, as well as insults, mockery and other disrespect. Don't just put down other people's opinions and advice. If you don't agree with them, respectfully say why. Don't just say they are wrong. Allow others to have their own opinions. No one should judge the opinions of others and let everyone know whether they share the opinion or not.
  8. Name calling is forbidden.
  9. The like function in the forum is there to briefly and concisely express agreement with the content. It is not intended to abuse sympathies or dislikes for projects, guilds and users in the form of "rudely liking". Exceptions to this are creative contributions such as drawn pictures or stories.
  10. Private messages (=conversations) may not be published. They serve to send messages of a private nature to other members and are not intended for reproduction in the public forum. Exceptionally, however, a PN may be posted publicly with the permission of the respective partner. If there is something in the PNs that violates the terms of use, then this PN can be forwarded to the moderation team for examination. For this purpose, the date and time of the PN must be specified.
  11. Picture-only postings are tolerated at most outside of spam threads. It is not too much to ask that you also add a sentence that reflects the content of the picture, if applicable. Picture postings that are used for provocation can be deleted by the moderation.
  12. Advertising is not allowed. In general, posts that promote a website, product or service are classified as advertising. Likewise, posts that unnecessarily or without comment refer visitors to another website with which you are connected in some way. It does not matter whether it is a commercial, private or non-profit website. Anyone who excessively links to their website or engages in any form of surreptitious advertising is in breach of these guidelines. Links to your/any website with which you have some form of affiliation are allowed if the link specifically answers the question asked and the answer cannot be readily answered without the link or the website fits the discussion in context. General and unnecessary links will be considered advertising. If you post an excessive number of links to your site (or only select topics in which your link may be relevant so that you can post it), we may revoke your right to post links. This rule does not apply to project or guild introductions in the relevant subforum, profile and signature. This rule also applies to the sending of advertising via conversation.
  13. It is not allowed to post affiliate URLs that result in you receiving money, banner ads, points or similar. These links are only allowed in signatures and profiles, but may not be referenced in posts.
  14. When linking to websites, please ensure that the content of the linked website complies with these guidelines. This also applies to mentions and references, even if they are not hyperlinked. All posts with inappropriate links will be removed by us.
  15. Posts that involve illegal activities, transactions or websites, such as warez, cracks, etc., will be removed. This includes posts where information has been illegally obtained.
  16. Do not post material (text, video, audio, etc.) that is copyrighted unless you have permission to reproduce or distribute it. If it is a text, it can be quoted in extracts if the source is linked (if online) or referred to (if offline). Copying the entire text, even with credit to the source, is a copyright infringement. This is not the place to illegally share or post copyrighted (or with questionable copyright status) video and audio files.
  17. We expect graphics (photos, drawn, photoshopped, etc.) to be credited when posted, if the artist requests it. If this is not given, we will remove the graphic. If various tools created by other artists are used for the creation of these graphics (e.g. brushes, textures, etc.), the sources for these must also be indicated if the artist so wishes or if they are not freeware. As an alternative to a repetitive listing of these tools under each posted graphic, a list of the resources in one's own forum profile is a good idea.
  18. When linking images, videos, files, etc., do not use hotlinks. This is the term used to describe the direct linking of images (.jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .webp, .avif, etc.), videos (.avi, .mov, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv, etc.), audios (.mp3, .wav, etc.), archives (.zip, .rar, etc.) and other downloadable or streamable content that is located on servers from which you do not have permission to link directly to this content. Instead, link to the page where the content can be found. This also applies to direct links to files, even if they themselves are not included in the post. This approach costs the owner of the server money and resources.
  19. Signatures may contain a maximum of 500 characters of text. This includes blank lines. Text in signatures may be customised with BBCode from our forum. We advise that fonts and colours are legible and that font sizes are not too large. You may mention websites and companies with which you have some connection if they are otherwise in line with the guidelines. Focus on the things you like, not the things you don't. Images must not exceed 600x150 pixels in size.
  20. Political and religious discussions are not allowed on this website, only tolerated. The forum administration reserves the right to terminate political and religious discussions at its own discretion. Likewise, political and religious views should be kept out of profiles, signatures and other content.
  21. We know that from time to time users will leave us (at their own request or otherwise). Upon termination of membership, we will not delete accounts, posts or other content from our community. By creating content, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free right to use that content in the Community, as any content posted in the Community becomes a part of it even if you leave it. You can ask us to remove certain content at any time, but we will decide when and if we remove that content from the Community.
  22. Some posts/forums have individual rules/templates in addition to the ToS which are either pinned and marked in the relevant forum or explained in the relevant thread in the first post. Especially if you are new to our community, we advise you to look around carefully in the individual forum areas.
  23. Moderation texts (recognisable by an orange frame) may only be used, edited or removed by the moderation.
  24. Discussions about moderation decisions are to be conducted via PN with the moderator or in an appropriate thread. Another moderator may also be consulted.
  25. The administration has the final say on everything. If you have a problem, complain directly to them and not publicly on the site. We are not perfect and if you feel we have made a mistake, send a private message to a team member you trust and we will look into the situation again. If a post of yours has been removed and you would like a copy of it to adjust and repost, please contact us. As long as we don't think it's a good idea to rewrite it completely, we'll be happy to send you a copy.

Do you have a question about our ToS or something else? Do you have a suggestion for improvement? Do you want to give us feedback or are you having problems with the website? Whatever it is, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

Thank you for visiting paxdei-rp.com.
