Really there is several layers to this though especially in regards to Language Barriers, Time Zones / Server Shards & Main Server Locations playing a part in this to some degree. We also do not fully understand the technology involved / A1 had most people not experiencing any real 'ping' issues or massive latency in general so perhaps server location is not really going to be an issue, but the total population on that server will dictate new people joining etc. This is relevant to people 'banding together' to achieve what your talking about, personally I think the city state of like minded people will take years regardless how you approach it initially and that is part of the natural, organic beauty of Player Driven Gameplay, some groups will fall apart and be absorbed by others.

We have to face the reality that MF are not willing to 'narrow their customer base' in regards to this being a Role Play Focused Game, but 'Light Role Play' is their regardless as you are literally playing a character in a low-fantasy medieval setting sandbox. Some community members will choose to embrace this and create an immersive and RP inclusive environment for everyone else, others will just want to run around going LOLZ LETS BONK STUFF, just how it goes.

    I'll just examplify:

Playing Neverwinter Nights online on an RP-required server I grouped up with some fellow dwarves. We hung out when playing, doing dwarf stuff; mining, singing and drinking ale. We formed a guild (even though that wasn't a function in the game) and recruited more dwarves. Our guild acted as a neutral faction beteen good and evil groups. 1½ years of it and we had 80 members making me believe the server was bigger than it was - a DM told me after the server shut down that about 2/3 of the players on the server had alts in the our guild. Learning to know all those chars and all those players has been one of the best RP experiences in my life. Almost 20 years ago now and some of the people I met through there are still my friends today.

    The feels eh!

Love me a mix of everything, there is an interesting dynamic involved when you have to actively stop and think about "What is an appropriate reaction from my 'character' and not the person playing it" and this allows people to express themselves in ways that they likely would never consider in person.

Adventures are great, everyone loves shiny new things that they find which make them look awesome. So are the random conversations standing by a road or sitting in the taverns. Or the sense of possibilities as you and your allies make plans and plot your goals.

The social element and sense of immersion from an engaged RP community can be something of beauty. But in regards to Pax Dei specifically and with it not being a role play enforced environment (It's an MMO sandbox with a medievalist setting) I feel that 'Light Roleplay' will be the predominant theme especially with bigger clans and smaller groups enforcing their own levels of it. So there is nothing akin to "Your character only knows what they have seen or heard in-game" which is still fine if perhaps a bit metagamey.

Just my thoughts really, they are random and fickle things at best :)

    G'Day there Kinman,

Very excited for upcoming MMO and plan to have an AU based clan / guild for it and makes sense to be involved with something like what you have already set up here.

Definitely interested in helping out with your site and expanding the resources available to the community. Could be an interesting place to help facilitate the in-game trading / notices like in games of past.
