Like other said above, I'm into a mix of both adventure and slice of life as a complementary. I get bored easily if tavern RP lead to nowhere but small talks. That's why I avoid GTA & RDR2 RP or casual Stormwind afk on WoW. I rather join a guild, get on events where my character's life could be threatened by various injuries including death.
I tend to play one main character, with enough knowledge to start a journey on their own, but not enough experience to get rid of a bunch of thugs alone. I'd write my BG regarding the lore available and I'd try to stick to it, but I'm open to lore bending on a certain level if it allows campaign possibilities, and not pure GMOD. On a character development side, I rather make my OC maturing through the up and downs he'll meet: death of an ally, first kiss & partnership, making friends, betrayals etc.
Overall, I'd prefer make a bond with a few people (in a bromance way) to form a group, then get inserted to large community-scaled events.
Last but not least, I like a bit of "hardcore" RP which leads to slower character evolution in terme of high manufactured equipment, skills learnings: it's kind of rewarding to me. I wrote a "bit", because I don't want to feel obligated to RP every evening either to spam events and get slow down by real life priorities. (Conan Exiles experience)
